Cauliflower Steak with Mushrooms

Timings: 25 mins prep, 30 mins cooking

Cauliflowers are so versatile! A great base for flavours and work with so many combinations


1 cauliflower

2-4 tsp Zing Foods Pepper Spiced oil

4 salad onions

1-2 cups of any mushrooms

1 cup of cooked Basmati rice

1 handful of rocket to garnish


Heat the oven to 180 degrees

Slice the cauliflower to make individual steaks and top each steak with half teaspoon of the Pepper Spiced oil

The steaks should be oven cooked over a medium heat, allowing the oil to cook and flavour the steaks for about 15 minutes. Turn the steaks at least once during cooking

While the steaks cook, gently sauté some chopped salad onions with mushrooms with a teaspoon of Pepper Spiced oil over a medium heat in a frying pan. This will only take a few minutes

When cooked, add a cup of cooked Basmati rice and stir together. Put the cooked cauliflower steak on the bottom, stack with the mushroom rice mixture and finish with some rocket. Enjoy!
